Joshua Chamberlain Society Trivia Night

November 9, 2013 @ 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm

The Joshua Chamberlain Society Raising Money to Help Our Veterans
Whole Foods Partnership on Nov. 7
Trivia Night Nov. 9 at the Overland Rec Center 7 – 11 p.m.

November 1, 2013, St. Louis, MO – The Joshua Chamberlain Society (JCS) is proud to announce two major Veteran’s Day events in the St. Louis area.

The Society is teaming up with Whole Foods Markets on Thursday, November 7. On that day all local Whole Foods Markets will donate 5% of all sales to the JCS.

This year the Joshua Chamberlain Society will also celebrate Veteran’s Day by hosting a trivia night. The event will take place Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the Overland VFW Hall located at 10815 Midland Blvd., St. Louis, MO  63114. The event includes a silent auction that will streamed live for online bids. In addition to the auction and the trivia night, the event will be highlighted by a local World War II and Korean War veteran leading the pledge of allegiance.

Both events support the mission of the JCS is to identify and adopt wounded or fallen military service members who have made such an extraordinary sacrifice for our country. In the same fashion that our service members have sacrificed for their country forever, the Society is dedicated to making an on-going commitment to our heroes for the remainder of their lives, or the lives of their families for fallen heroes.

One of St. Louis’ veterans with permanent injuries, Josh Eckhoff, was seriously injured when his vehicle hit an IED in Iraq on February 6, 2008 and left Josh with severe head injuries. “JCS is like a family to me and our six other adopted wounded warriors”, Josh says. “They provide assistance where other organizations do not. I have been helping spread the word of this great organization to anyone in the St. Louis community that will listen.’

The Bald Eagle at this event will be present through the generous help of World Bird Sanctuary.
